Popis: In order to understand how disease in the liver spreads to other organs or regions, it is important to review the organ’s embryologic development and the ligaments suspending it in the upper abdomen. In this chapter, we describe the embryologic development and anatomy of the hepatic ligaments with their anatomic landmarks and illuminate the various pathways of disease spread based on this anatomic concept.
