Popis: Tachinidae is a very large dipteran family, endoparasitism of insects being its primary biological characteristic. Despite the common feeding habit of the adults on flowers or honey dew, findings of tachinids on carrion are reported in several forensic entomology works. The present paper reports about new records of tachinid captures both on animal carrion and in carrion-baited traps, based on intensive studies in central Spain during 2004-2008. It is probable that Tachinidae are attracted by the odour of the carrion.
