Popis: | This paper presents the controller hardware in the loop (CHIL) validation of a novel coordinated voltage control solution for distribution systems with high penetration of distributed generations (DGs). The control algorithm uses the coordination between the traditional voltage regulation devices and the inverter interfaced DGs capability to supply reactive power to mitigate voltage violation. Voltage sensitivity analysis and electric distance calculation is used to identify the var contributing node and the amount of VAR to be injected so that voltage violations can be taken care of immediately. The proposed algorithm was first validated in offline simulation. Then the algorithm was validated in a real-time controller-hardware-in-the-loop (CHIL) setup considering a real-world communication scenario. In both the offline and real-time validation, a feeder model based on an actual distribution feeder with real field data was used. The results show that the algorithm is successful in coordinating the available system resources to keep the system voltage within the desired limit. |
