Popis: The Phadebas amylase test, a chromogenic method for the determination of amylase in serum and urine, has advantages in sensitivity, precision, handling, etc. However, as far as amylase in urine is concerned, some problems remain to be further studied such as the method of dilution of urine, the influence of albumin in urine and the influences of other unknown substances that activate amylase. Several activating substances were chosen for this study to minimize further the influence of urinary albumin using blue starch substrate. As a result polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP) was found to be a preferable substitute for albumin in the assay.
