Popis:	The macrocyclic “benzyne” 3 was trapped with furan and several annelated furans. The adducts were deoxygenated by Fe2(CO)9 in a fast route to yield several new annelated dihydropyrenes. Molecular mechanics calculations indicate that the strain energy of 3 is similar to benzyne.
