Popis: | We have performed a neutron inelastic scattering experiment on holmium gallium garnet to investigate the crystal field splitting of the LS ground state of the holmium ion. We have found values for the crystal field parameters which both describe our data and account for measurements on the same system of NMR, optical spectra, low-temperature heat capacity and magnetisation. |
