Popis: | Men who have sex with men (MSM) have a high risk for acquiring some sexually transmitted infections, including HIV and viral hepatitis A and B. Little is known about how to design effective sexual health educational materials to reach MSM. As part of a project to develop online educational materials to increase MSM's readiness to get hepatitis A and B vaccinations, three health promotion campaigns were evaluated—using quantitative and qualitative methods—by 41 MSM. Preferences about content, layout, visuals, dissemination sites, motivational messages, and memorable materials were collected and then descriptively and content analyzed. This information is useful for social service professionals to reach their clients who are at risk. Also, understanding how to motivate vaccination among MSM will pave the way as HPV and HIV vaccinations become available. |
