Popis: This paper proposes a design of controller which switches between the battery and solar panel such that the solar energy is efficiently utilized by the load, most suitable for Solar Electric Drives. When Load-current and Charging current of the battery, can be supplied from Solar Source, the Load is connected to Solar Source directly and simultaneously Battery gets charged separately without any load connected to it. This is done with help of controller. So, the Battery gets charged quickly, load also is driven simultaneously. This improves the Running time of the Battery. When the battery is fully charged, the Battery must be disconnected from supply to prevent Over Charging. Also, when load requires less current and Battery is fully charged. The load can be directly supplied from solar source. Thus, Battery can be disconnected. So, this, will make the battery's usage less, which will improve the life time of the battery. When Current can't be supplied from Solar Source, the battery is required to supply the Load. So, Battery is connected to load also it gets charged simultaneously from the Solar PV source. This is similar to Operation of Normal Solar Electric Drive Systems. All these operations are performed with help of Programmed Controller. The Parameters like Current, Voltage or Speed along with its characteristics are fed to microcontroller. So, the microcontroller knows when such conditions occur and operate accordingly.
