Popis:	THE production of pulses of neutrons from a reactor beam by means of a rotating scatter is a well-known technique1. We have investigated the possibility of using a quartz piezoelectric crystal as a means of modulating a beam of neutrons. It was believed that in this way it might be possible to obtain a variable frequency pulsed or sine-modulated source of mono-energetic neutrons.
