Popis:	Psoralens are planar tricyclic compounds which bind to both single and double-stranded nucleic acids by hydrophobic interactions with pyrimidine bases. Upon irradiation with long wavelength UV-light between 320 – 400 nm, psoralens form covalent cycloaddition products, preferentially with the bases thymidine and uracil and to a lesser extent also with cytosine1,2.
