Popis: THE similarity of chest pain associated with pulmonary hypertension and that of coronary-artery disease was stressed by Viar and Harrison1 in their excellent monograph. They suggested the term "pulmonary hypertensive pain" and pointed out that it may resemble angina pectoris subjectively in almost every detail. The location is precordial or substernal, but other areas of the thorax may be involved, anteriorly or posteriorly. Radiation when present frequently extends to the left shoulder and arm. The intensity of the pain varies from mild to quite severe. Like angina, the pain with pulmonary hypertension may be precipitated by physical exertion or emotional . . .
