Popis:	This article analyses the theme of wilderness in Argentinian writer Jorge Accame's 2008 gothic novel Forastero. Exploring violence and oppression in a provincial setting, this text depicts a wilderness of dizzying dimensions encompassing the human heart, the interior of Argentina and the entire cosmos. This article focuses on the related areas of light and darkness and civilization and barbarism, and notes specific allusions to Bram Stoker's Dracula.
