Resonance effects in molecule vibrational excitation by picosecond laser pulses

Popis: A picosecond infrared laser pulse can excite a molecule from the ground state to a certain vibrational level, all the other levels being nonpopulated. An opposite effect is also possible. These effects exhibit resonance properties on the laser frequency, the amplitude and the pulse duration.
