Popis: | Providing an overview of the main challenges met in a Smart Grid communication network as well as of the important modern technologies and protocols that tend to mitigate these issues by improving the connectivity between the different types of Smart Grid equipment, this paper introduces the issues of traffic impairments and time synchronization. Then, it gives insight into the structure of a typical Smart Grid. Lastly, the paper presents some influential protocols like Ethernet, GOOSE and MPLS that are being used in the communication networks of many Smart Grids. |
