Examination of the Compensation of Characteristics of Indicator Connecting Passage Using a Shock Tube

Popis: For a correct estimation of heat release rates or progression of combustion in an internal combustion engine it is very important that the cylinder pressure be precisely measured without any distortion due to the indicator measuring system. Serious errors are caused by the connecting passage located between the combustion chamber and the pressure sensor. A characteristic equation has already been proposed and is considered to be the most reliable so far. The authors have compared the results of compensation using this equation for numerical calculation and of a shock tube experiment under severe conditions.
