Popis: | 1. It is shown that ternary chromium selenides of composition MeCr2Se4 (where Me = Fe, Cu, Zn, or Cd) can be synthesized by reacting mixtures of simple oxides with hydrogen selenide. 2. The MeCr2Se4 compounds obtained in this work were found to be semiconductors exhibiting paramagnetism over the temperature range 20–600° C. An anomaly in the ϰ vs T relationship characterizing FeCr2Se4 was discovered, consisting in sharp increase in ϰ with rise in temperature. 3. The character of conductivity and the magnetic characteristics of the materials investigated are related to the degree of filling of their orbitals and to the character of the interactions between the Me and chromium orbitals in these compounds. |
