Popis: | Alanosine (L-2-amino-3-hydroxynitrosamine propionic acid) fed to males and females of the black blow fly for a single 3-day period or for the life of the experiment significantly reduced egg production, length, and hatchability. The onset of oviposition was delayed for 3 days by both modes of treatment, an effect not seen in Bracon hebetor Say. The difference is in the time of development of the ovarioles, before eclosion in the wasp and after eclosion in the black blow fly. |
