Popis: | Our goal in the present work was to synthesize a new proton exchange membrane that could be used in proton exchange membrane fuel cell (PEMFC), based on a blend of sulfonated polyethersulfone (S-PES) and sulfonated polyethersulfone octylsulfonamide (S-PESOS). Five blends, using S-PESOS with different grafting ratios of sulfonamide groups, have been elaborated, characterized, and tested in a PEMFC. The similar chemical structure between these two polymers favored their compatibility. The synthesized membranes showed a high water swelling capacity and an ionic conductivity equivalent to that of Nafion® (0.1 S cm–1) in the same conditions. |
