Popis: Summary Horizontal well position uncertainty is always present and is not possible to reduce it to zero. We can manage the well trajectory using our extensive experience to integrate drilling and reservoir departments from planning to while drilling and completion stages thanks to a variety of tools provided by the service company. The application of proper well survey (Inclination, Azimuth) corrections ISCWSA Error Model (Industry Steering Committee for Wellbore Survey Accuracy) has a great impact not only for anti-collision purposes, as commonly stated in the literature, but also for a comprehensive reservoir understanding. In details, to reduce the MWD inclination uncertainty is possible to use: “Sag Correction model, “Dual Inclination”, “Continuous survey sampling”, “Proper MWD magnetic spacing”, “In-field referencing”, “Mechanical stretching correction”, “Thermal stretching correction”. This submission includes practical examples, showing the importance of reducing and handling properly the well position uncertainty and its impact. The awareness of the consequences of well depth uncertainty, allows improving the consistency between the well position and the reservoir model; a “must” to properly guide the drilling. For this reason, it is important to plan and properly manage, while drilling, the well trajectory. It is going to be the base to improve strategic geo-steering and look-ahead services.
