Popis: | Using a discursive therapy approach that draws heavily from collaborative therapy, the author of this article demonstrates how the therapist (author) used the interdependent philosophical assumptions of not-knowing, being public, and honoring a client's story as a means to counteracting social inequalities experienced by a biracial, court-directed couple presenting for therapy. This therapeutic approach is demonstrated within the context of four different dialogical interplays that occurred during the couple's second therapy session. The implications of clinical work with marginalized couples and families and for the family therapy profession are discussed. |
