Popis: Chapter 11 discusses the nature of fast generation of visual perceptions, including later less-sketch-like perceptions generated between saccades. The discovery of the multi-directional nature of perceptual processing forms a background. Basics of neural processing underlying perceptual processing in areas of the brain specialized for vision and timings of perceptual processing, largely evinced by timing of underlying neural processing, are laid out. The chapter highlights timings of the formation of spatial representations, equivalent to timings of emergence of spatial perceptual constancies, which culminate in timings of perceptual categorization. Various levels of specificity in perceptual categorization are distinguished.
