Popis: | For the aging male, the issue of andropause or male menopause is a growing concern. This questionnaire survey was undertaken to characterize the prevailing views of Singaporean men on aging and male menopause as medical concerns, their interest in gaining knowledge about the male menopause and their attitude towards its management.There were 379 respondents with a mean age of 53.3 years. Nearly all learned about the term ‘male menopause’ through newspapers. A very high proportion of the respondents expressed interest in acquiring more knowledge on the condition and its treatment, citing booklets and leaflets as the preferred mode of gaining this information. The majority found it necessary to seek medical advice for symptoms of male menopause. Most identified the general practitioner as the most appropriate medical personnel to consult.
