Popis: Innovation and innovation partnership are inextricably linked to the development of the industry. The central topic of the fourth chapter is the role of innovation as a macroeconomic and microeconomic externality. The development of the theory of innovation is closely connected with Joseph A. Schumpeter who explains how innovation causes spontaneous changes in a market economy and affects the business cycle. Innovation is the driving force of a market economy and spreads across industries thanks to competition. Innovation thus causes macroeconomic and microeconomic externalities. With regard to the follow-up research of the influence of clusters on the area of innovation activities and performance, the chapter deals with the practical definition of the concept of innovation. The understanding of innovation according to the Oslo Manual was chosen for further research. Together with the Frascati Manual, it forms an internationally recognised methodology for statistical surveys in the field of research and development. The literature search showed that innovation partnership is an important parameter of industry development, although it brings various threats in the field of intellectual property. Therefore, at the end of the chapter, the framework of intellectual property rights in terms of various forms of their protection is defined.
