Popis: Fischer's method has often been described in the literature [1-3]. The basis of the method is the change in color of the Fischer reagent when water is absorbed, caused by reaction of the iodine. Water contents between 500 and 3-4 mg/m a can be determined in gases by this method to within 7-8%. tn measuring microconcentrati ons of water the usual solution of Fischer reagent, with a titer of 3.0-3.5 mg/ml, can be used but more accurate results, with less expenditure of gas, can be obtained by using a specially prepared solution with a titer of 1.2-1.4 rag/m1 [1, 4]. To determine water in a gas by Fischer's method, the author's used the apparatus shown in Fig. 1. The apparatus was constructed so as to be completely air-tight. Before beginning the work it was flushed with dry gas (dew point minus 65-70~ through stopcock 7. After flushing,50 ml of absolute alcohol (not more than 0.03% water) was introduced with a medical syringe. This was then back-titrated with Fischer reagent to the equivalence point either by potentiometric titration or by comparison with the color of an "indicator." The gas being analyzed was passed through the ceil of the apparatus at 0.3-0.4 liter/min until the color of the solution changed. The partially decolorized solution was titrated to the equivalent point. The amount of gas required for the analysis depends on its water content. The moisture content of the gas was calculated from the equation
