Popis: | A generalization of the theory of passive mode-locking with a fast saturable absorber is presented that accounts for self-phase modulation and group velocity dispersion. The model is appropriate to describe a number of new mode-locking techniques applied recently in femtosecond continuous wave titanium-doped sapphire lasers. Good qualitative agreement with experimental results is obtained concerning the intracavity soliton-like compression mechanisms. |
