Influence of silver on the mechanical properties of Zn-Al eutectoid superplastic alloy

Popis: | Changes in the superplastic behavior of a Zn-Al eutectoid alloy were investigated in tension at strain rates from 2×10 −4 to 9×10 −1 s −1 at 230 °C. The silver contents were 1.0 and 6.15 wt.% Ag. The presence of the silver addition has a great influence on the stress–strain curve. The main features are the development of region 0 and an increase of the strain rate for superplasticity. The experimental results suggest that the origin of this behavior is related to microstructural refinement induced by the silver content. This effect is compared with Zn-Al alloy. |
