Summary Seismic methods based on Surface Waves are widely used in geophysics to characterize mechanical parameters of the subsurface as well as the civil engineering infrastructures. And for natural risk issues, environmental monitoring is more and more in demand. Among all the surface wave methods, MASW is the most popular. And could a prior be interesting in this case to identify the temporal mechanical variations in the context of climate change. To monitor the medium variations, the most direct way consists in recording measurements for different times to get several data-sets. By inverting the data-set separately, one can have the inversion results of each data-set and the difference between the two inversion results provides the variation of the medium parameter. In this study, we propose an innovate inversion process using surface wave methods. First of all, the inversion process is applied on a difference of the data-sets, instead of each of the data-set. Moreover, we propose to define this difference by calculating the distance between scatter plots based on the methods of calculating distances between histograms that is widely used for the pattern recognition. The new inversion process will be introduced and be tested on laboratory data. |
