Popis: | This article reports on an investigation of the influence of ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid (EDTA) on the antimicrobial properties of a number of USSR-manufactured bactericidal additives for lubricating-cooling fluids (LCFs). Microbiological determinations were supplemented by measurements of the basic physicochemical properties of the LCFs: emulsion stability, anticorrosion properties, and pH according to GOST 6243-75; emulsified oil concentration by decomposition method; foaming by the method set forth in specification TU 38 101147-74; and odor as determined organoleptically and color as determined visually. The influence of the bactericidal additives in combination with EDTA on the set of physicochemical properties of the emulsion was determined by the ''aging'' method. It is determined that when used in combination with EDTA, the protective life of the bactericides was increased by a factor of 2.2-2.7. The basic physicochemical properties of the LCF, with the exception of foaming, showed essentially no changes throughout the entire period of antimicrobial action when the bactericides were used in combination with the EDTA. |
