An archaeological watching brief was undertaken to monitor the groundbreaking works at 1 Lyons Close (NGR: NT 2584 7367). Works undertaken by Maxi Construction include the take down and removal of the north and west facing retaining walls and copes, re-building of the walls with salvaged stone, re-bedding of the copes and their fixing with new dowelling, the formation of new concrete walls and foundations for structural support, the uplift of existing cobbles and paving and re-laying on completion and the cutting down and removal of trees from site. |
