Wakamatsu High-Temperature Turbine Verification Test Project : A Study of a Large-Capacity Coal-Fired USC Plant

Popis: This paper reviews the design of the EPDC's Wakamatsu high-temperature turbine and the operating experience of its first step verification test STEP I, which features main/reheat steam temperatures of 593°C/593°C. In designing this turbine, a number of new concepts for elevated temperature use were incorporated, and several types of new heat resistance steels were used in the major parts. Since the initial startup in November, 1986, the operating experience of Wakamatsu high-temperature turbine STEP I so far has demonstrated high reliability, and many valuable data are being obtained, proving the practicality of a large capacity USC turbine.
