Popis: Marine actinomycetes are a rich source of bioactive compounds. It could be found in coastal marine sediments. 70 to 80% of the secondary metabolites generated by actinomycetes are medically active substances. Many researches are focused on actinomycetes because of its having many bio prospecting features. The actinomycetes strains (PPT 3) are isolated from Parangipettai coastal region. The SEM analysis was used to identify actinomycetes. The strain exhibited superior inhibitory action in both primary and secondary antibacterial activity screenings against Salmonella typhi (25 mm) and Haemophilus influenza (27 mm), which are known to cause typhoid and pneumonia disease, respectively.
