The aim of the oncoplastic procedures is to achieve a pleasing balance in shape, size, and projection of the breast with optimal sensation for the nipple-areola complex. Reconstruction of defects after quadrantectomy with L, J, and V mammoplasty can be used with small modifications for all lower quadrant tumors especially when the tumor is located near the skin. We describe L and J plasty as a modification of the vertical mammoplasty. V mammoplasty is also described for tumors located in the lower inner quadrant. These techniques are reliable and as safe as other techniques even in larger volume excisions. In addition, it is easily learned and typically provides acceptable long-term aesthetic results. |
