Popis: | The polymeric poly-p-xylylene-lead sulfide nanocomposites bearing from 1 to 10 vol % sulfide have been produced by vapor deposition polymerization. The correlation between the sulfide concentration and nanoparticle sizes is established by wide-(WAXS) and small-angle (SAXS) X-ray scattering. It is found that, with an increase in PbS concentration, the mean sulfide particle size increases from 3.3 to 6.8 nm and the distance between them extends from 3.7 to 7.3 nm. The particle sizes are determined from the optical absorption spectra by the effective mass approximation. A hypsochromic shift in the absorption band edge is detected that reaches over 2500 nm relative to the band edge of bulk PbS. In the range of 900–1500 nm, the fluorescence of lead sulfide has been observed and the band maximum is shown to be able to shift by more than 200 nm, depending on the sulfide concentration. |
