Popis: | An increasing number of polypeptide growth factors have been identified that regulate not only cell proliferation but also an extraordinary range of cell activities, including matrix protein deposition and resolution, the maintenance of cell viability, cell differentiation, inflammation, and tissue repair. This article considers tumor secretion of insulin-like growth factor, platelet-derived growth factor, epidermal growth factor, and transforming growth factor. It also discusses their autocrine/paracrine action on tumor growth, as well as endocrine effects on other tissues. |
