Calculation of vortex flowfields around forebodies and delta wings

Popis: A Navier-Stokes solver has been applied 20 rhe flow about forebodies and delca wings at angle-ofattack. For forebodies, the mechod is able to simulate the symmetric flow that occurs at lower angles-of-attack ( a 6 35') and the asymetric flow that occucs a t moderate angle-of-accack (35 I (2 6 6 0 ' ) . In addition, the method is able co simulate the vortex breakdown phenomena that occurs under certain conditions for delta wings. Computational predictions of surface pressure, normal force, side force, and off-body velocicy vectors are compared with experimental results for flowfields which include vortex asymmecry and/or breakdown
