Optomechanical considerations for stable lasers

Popis: An analysis is presented that indicates the preferred optical arrangement for a stable laser oscillator is to use a hemispherical resonator. Qualitative observations suggest that laser frequency variation is independent of excitation position on the laser box structure. An excitation position that efficiently couples to the end plates on which mirrors are mounted produces substantially higher laser frequency variations.
