Popis: Using the principle of off-axis abnormal Bragg diffraction, a high resolution acousto-optic TeO2 deflector for radio spectral analysis has been designed and manufactured. The theoretical resolution is 19KHz, and in practice a resolution of 29KHz has been achieved. The 1 dB bandwidth is 22MHz. The deflection is a linear function of a input power up to 100 mw. The deflector has been used in construction of an acousto-optic spectrographs in Australia and has achieved excellent results in the observation of dark cloud.
