Popis:	Patenting has become more important to academics in recent years. Patents on biomedical technologies have provided incentives for the development of new products and services throughout the history of the pharmaceutical industry. With the beginning of the biotechnology revolution in the 1970s, however, new challenges had to be sorted out to define the boundary between nature and patentable products derived from nature, such as isolated DNA and recombinant organisms.
