Popis: The lining process is described as a method by which a new cloth material is adhered to the back of a painting whose canvas is decayed to such an extent that it can no longer support itself. Due to the close relationship of the paint film to the canvas, the activation parameters employed in the lining process are at risk of changing the appearance of the paint film. The constraints the adhesive and adhering process must be activated under are discussed.
