Popis:	Activity-directed study of Juniperus polycarpos led to the isolation of active antimicrobial viz., hinokiol, sandaracopimaric acid 4-eniabietic acid, and other minor terpenes in addition to sabinic acid. The antiinflammatory activity of hinokiol was also demonstrated, using carrageenan-induced inflammation_in rats. The structures of the isolated terpenes were determined by 1HNMR, 13CNMR and 2DNMR, APT, DEPT, PND spectra.
