Popis:	Lignocellulosic bast fibers (e.g., jute, kenaf, hemp, and ramie) are one of the most important renewable carbon-neutral natural resources for various industrial applications. This review gives an outline of bast fiber biogenesis with special emphasis on the cell wall and wall polymers. Role of these molecules in influencing the quality of the bast fiber has been discussed.
