This chapter analyses the employment pattern of regular salaried workers of the scheduled castes and higher castes in India and the states, based on the employment unemployment survey pertaining to years 2004–05 and 2017–18. This chapter also studies the differences between the scheduled castes and higher castes, the Labour Force Participation Rate, work participation rate, employment by industry and occupation and by age and education. It also examines the job and social security and extent of informal and formal workers among the scheduled castes and higher castes. It brings out the all-employment indicators between the scheduled castes and higher castes. |
