Popis: | In this paper, the thermal decomposition of hydrogen sulphide by Cadmium Chalcogens (CdS, CdSe, and CdTe) to hydrogen and sulphur was studied in the temperature range 275–525°C. The thermal dissociation of hydrogen sulphide process efficiency by these semiconductors, under similar conditions, depended on the type of semiconductor and followed the following trend: CdSe ≥ CdTe > CdS. The experiment also showed that H2S is stable at temperatures below 275°C in the presence of these semiconductors. It is found that the molar percentage of H2 produced is increased with reaction time increased up to 120 min, and reaches a plateau value for longer reaction times. |
