Popis: the intervention group (mean difference 0.72, 95%CI 1.15; 0.28). No differences in costs between groups. Cost-effectiveness for QALYs and physical activities could not be demonstrated. For functional limitations there was a 0.95 probability that the intervention was cost-effective in comparison with usual care for ceiling ratios >€6,500. Conclusion: Oral nutritional supplementation of malnourished elderly patients for 3 months after hospital discharge led to a significant improvement for functional limitations and is neutral in costs. Cost-effectiveness could not be demonstrated for QALYs and physical activities. The follow-up of 3 months was probably too short to detect changes in QALYs or physical activities in these patients.
