Popis: Radiochromic waveguide dosimeters consist of small fluorinated ethylene propylene (FEP) tubing containing a radiation-sensitive organic liquid or gel, which, because of its higher refractive index, propagates light through the tubing as an optical waveguide. The measurement of dose is accomplished by reading radiation induced changes in the ratio of transmittances at two visible light wavelengths. These dosimeters read the gamma and neutron tissue doses. Real time dosimeters were built on this principle for use in radiation therapy.
