Popis: Shallow gas occurs in most areas of the Norwegian shelf. Following the West Vanguard blowout in October 1985, the most serious of several operational incidents, Statoil set up a multi-discipline group to study the problem of shallow gas. The aims were to increase the accuracy of shallow gas prediction, and to study its nature and setting. The study and its conclusions are summarized in Gallagher et al 1991. Most of the geophysical analyses were workstation-based, using standard interpreters' tools (see allo Gallagher et al 1989 and Gallagher and Kemp 1992).
