| Popis: | We briefly introduce our approach to understanding the neuronal correlates of consciousness and ask what can be said about the nature of qualia from an introspective, first-person account. We discuss Jackendoff’s “Intermediate Level Theory of Consciousness” (1987) as well as related work of others, that implies that we are not directly conscious of our thoughts. We apply this hypothesis to the visual system of the macaque monkey and discuss possible experimental tests. |
