In this paper, extensive results for thermophysical properties of 20Ne are presented in the temperature-range 100 µk–0.5 K. The results include the average total cross section 〈σT〉 and the quantum second virial coefficient Bq. The calculations are undertaken using the HFD-B3 potential. 〈σT〉 tends to decrease as T increases. As T goes to upper limit of our range, 〈σT〉 is nearly constant because the kinetic-energy part is much larger than the interaction part. A very large negative quantum second virial coefficient is symptomatic of conditions favouring clustering. Clusterization of 20Ne, is predicted at very low temperature T∼ 500 µk. Bq is used to investigate the virial equation of state. Also, other properties are studied included nonideality, the Helmholtz free energy, internal energy, entropy, and specific heat capacity for a number density of 10−4 A−3. |
