Popis:	The evolutionary status and pulsational characteristics of AGB stars in the LMC have been studied. It is found that only those stars with a small mixing-length ratio can fit the observed period-luminosity relation. Strong non-adiabatic effects were found in the outer envelope and must be taken into account in future work.
