Variable Temperature 57Fe Mössbauer Spectroscopic Studies on Ferrocenyl 'Push-Pull' Molecules

Popis: Although there have been a number of Mossbauer spectroscopic studies on NLO properties of ferrocenyl “push-pull” molecules [1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6] there is room for more characterisation of the electronic environment of the iron atom in such molecules. With this in mind two push-pull ferrocenes (I and II) have been synthesised and characterised. Within these push-pull molecules the ferrocene moiety acts as an electron donor, with the electron directed through the conjugated p-bridge to a strong electron acceptor group. Molecules of this type display large second order non — linear optical (NLO) properties (quadratic hyperpolarizabilities).
